About The Artwork
The experience of viewing the world is in itself deep and mysterious, and that's the real subject of this painting: space, light and shadows, three dimensionality and the texture of things. When we look at the world, we are always only seeing a perception, already "fictionalized" reality. I thought of this painting as a sort of trap, an illusion in which a viewer could fall, jus like the fish in the painting.
