The world on my back Painting

Maria Tzoutzouli is a Serbian-Greek visual artist, civil engineer and high school teacher born in Novi Sad, Serbia. Tzoutzouli's work explores the relationship between our perceptual categories and the imaginary sphere to provide the viewers with a multilayered experience capable of walking them into the liminal area in which subconscious level establishes a symbiosis between the conscious sphere. Drawing from universal imagery, Tzoutzouli incorporate both traditional media and found objects to trigger both memory and imagination, to speak of emotions and a vareity of feelings, creating a compelling narrative: we are very pleased to introduce our readers to her stimulating artistic production. Colors and lines, shapes and forms are my best tools for creating my art works, paintings which are all parts of me, parts of my soul and dreams. I discover myself in the world of colors and the beauty of art. With my work I want to show my emotions, my impressions and expressions. My inspiration comes from my everyday life, nature and sounds, my work and energy that I receive daily from my students. Also, as a civil engineer I am inspired by buildings, bridges, roads and other constructions which I make with my vision of them, so colorful and playful. Painting techniques which I prefer are acrylic and oil on canvas, textile art and watercolors as well as a combined technique of those. Also, I find natural materials quite inspiring, especially wood, clay, sand and metal. With my cognition I lead you to the space of playing and logistics where I give to everyone a chance to go back to childhood and dreamland. Art is my life because life is art, so I try to celebrate life, to celebrate art every day…
