Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Enamel, Plaster on Cardboard, Wood, Other.

"Theogony" -- mixed media. The background is layered with enamels, gesso, and acrylic paint to create a dark, chaotic matrix; out of this emerges four structured elements, representing the rise of order from darkness and chaos.

The title, which translates to "Birth of the Gods", comes from a fragmentary poem of the Greek writer Hesiod (c. 700 BC).

This piece is frames and ready to hand, signed and dated on both front and back, titled on back.
