Surrounded by nature and little else, the landscapes there set the scene for deep introspection and reflection. The paintings in this collection are a representation of memories, fears, and vulnerabilities that resurfaced within my own internal experience during that time. They illustrate various female archetypes interacting with the environment; a representation of control over emotional elements. Their physical colonization of a contained world becomes a metaphor for organization and dominion over internal infrastructures. The underlying themes in the work include solitude, vulnerability, the psychological, and explorations of nature.
