'Things Behind the Sun' Painting

This is a painting of the Sun, inspired by photos of solar flares on the surface of the sun and diagrams of the magnetic waves that emanate from it. It's also inspired by the power and mystery that the sun embodies. During the solar eclipse of 1999 I looked at the sun without shades (squinting) while it partly disappeared and returned. Afterwards everything I looked directly at had a golden hue to it. The sun itself though, when looked at directly (squinting!), seems to change colour all the time. It gives everything colour, so it must contain all the colours within itself. It's painted some promotional literature for a supermarket and mounted it on a piece of wood which has rails on the back for hanging purposes. The advertising words and images, though barely discernable, lend the painting another layer of meaning.
