Born in Italy in 1970. I studied literature in Rome, surrounded and immersed in classical art and architecture. I worked in the Archaeological Museum of Sperlonga and have been captivated by the greatness of classical art and the power of mythology. There, I have learned the principles of sculpture and restoration: recreating an object from its fragments is an experience that marked my life as an artist. I can't limit my expression to a specific material, support or technique. I often use wood, fabric, paper, wax, prints, Plexiglas, resins and metal, or photography. I like transfigure elements of reality into symbols, in a sort of restoration and recreation, leading several possible interpretations. The appropriation of certain objects, or their creation, are a similar approach of decontextualization, which proposes a reflection on the context, surrounding the work itself. Nothing is fortuitous, I proceed by synthesis and subtraction, eliminating unnecessary material and ideas, and trying to avoid forms and concepts that are not stimulating. My work is to arrange elements, images and evidence of reality, and attributing to the resulting object the status of a real and tangible object.
