This acrylic on canvas painting was an assignment when I was an advanced painting student under Professor Steve Lotz at the University of Central Florida. Professor Lotz told me my work that semester was to center on the depiction of skulls. This is a result. The painting is modern, bold and utilizes atmospheric effects in the background. I decided to play with an abstract field of color and at the same time depict 3 skulls with different colors surrounded by fields of the same that set off the skulls from their background. The painting is wired on the back for hanging. This painting is unusual in that I took advantage of the space in the studio to work on a larger scale than I normally work in (the painting is 9 feet long). The painting is not framed but comes rolled so the collector has their choice of framing.
