About The Artwork

Painting size 129 Width x 152 Height x 12 Depth cm. Mediums Oil, Wax, Wood. 26 canvas bolted together shaped a stone wall where an oil graffiti, give the large composition of a ramping horse with seven different meanings including a timing clock in the centre pacing the space-time of the whole Artwork. With the crisis of the concept of community a rampant individualism arises, society itself lives in a continuous process of precariousness. This “subjectivism” has undermined the foundations of modernity and has made it fragile. That gives rise to a situation in which, having no benchmarks, everything dissolves into a kind of liquidity. Is there a way to survive liquidity? There is, and is precise, to be aware that we live in a liquid society, to be understood and perhaps overcome, demands new instruments. It was taking from ¨From stupidity to insanity, Umberto Eco (2016)¨. Since the beginning of our history, the Horse, a great friend, has symbolised everything that is a developing human society. From the wild and unstoppable to honour and loyalty. It has been a symbol of power, grace, beauty, nobility, strength and freedom. The black horse mystery, death, night, secret, messenger or esoteric knowledge. White horse light, sun, day, vitality, lighting, resurrection and messenger of birth. Some associated it with the four elements: water, earth, wind and fire. The Celts related it with war, specifically with victory, conquest longevity and associated territoriality. For the Hindus, the Horse was related to Varuna and was believed to be the last reincarnation of Vishnu. In this Cheltonian puzzle, this Horse means,¨The Thriving Society¨. Those who live black ties with common human passions of sex and lust also appear on the lower part of the Horse. In the bright chest is the face of the powerful. On top of the social animal are outlined, those who live loving but are not expressive of that love. Above are also those who love and express it well, connected in red to the All. Then those who see God in all things and connect with the purity of new thinking. And finally, the enlightened in this society that, thanks to their inner vision, come to understand and realise God in themselves, connecting all the lines of different colours of learning in a single symbol of love and peace. My name is Federico García, and I was born in Venezuela in 1965. I studied at the Arturo Michelena School of Fine Arts in Valencia, Venezuela, 1970. My love for nature made me study agriculture at the Jesuit technical school; with it, I became interested in photography of the environment. During my trips around the world, I made photographic albums on the life of different cultures. As a photographer, I worked for the UN. We created a project called Artists of Peace, and it sought to encourage peace through art, in this, I found part of my inspiration for the creation of artistic works with transcendental messages, intending to instil a collective conscience for the peace of humanity and the well-being of the environment. Due to the political situation of Venezuela, we had to emigrate. I have been able to learn many valuable lessons that I want to transmit through my work, which I'm currently carrying out in the heart of Cheltenham, Uk. The current evolution of my work it's based on the union of multiple stone-shaped frames, conforming a three-dimensional texture of a solid wall, where I present my oils as graffitis with transcendental themes linked to our human existence, combining the duality of good and bad, known or to be known. I want to create with my style, the crack that breaks that old mental dam and make people's ideas flow out of the square box. No line resists the curvature of the Universe.
