This painting is about the mystery of love set in the real world, where on the one hand love and the fear of death mix together to create a sense of nostalgia for things, that have yet to become the past. A feeling of happiness and sadness intertwined... enjoying the moment while fearing the inevitable. On the other hand, love is visualised as a never-ending cycle in the form of a mysterious liquid that is runs from the mans hat-tube on to a yellow platform, then down a beige structure and into a pond. From the pond the love (devotion, kindness, gentleness name is what you will) the woman initially gave to the man is fed back to her and she will pass it on again.
