About The Artwork
Under a willow tree on a river bank. The river has clay so quite red brown. I was interested in trying to depict hanging branches and leaves and to create an image which was predominantly green. I grew a willow tree when I was young, somehow I had kind of forgotten this type of tree until I saw one when travelling. This work is unmounted and unframed. The paper size is 20ins x 16ins, the image size is 18.5ins x 14.5ins. There is gum paper around the edge of the work which was used to stretch the paper.

I was a painter to begin. I started doing computer art in the late 70s, programmed at first but then evolving into a couple of strands of practice. Today the painting and the computer work interact sometimes, because of digital media I also retrieve and revisit old work when it merits it.
