About The Artwork

Painting "Together to Victory" from the series "Ukrainian Renaissance". The war in Ukraine could not help but leave a mark on my heart and creativity. From the first days of the war, my thoughts were about freedom, strength, and our fight against an insidious enemy. I survived the occupation of Kherson, waited for his liberation of our city, then fled from merciless bombing and shelling. I, like many Ukrainians, was forced to leave my home. We all don’t know what awaits us in other lands, how much more blood we have to shed for our identity, beliefs and values. All this time I continued to create paintings with thoughts of supporting the morale of Ukrainians, our brave warriors. The presented picture expresses the desire for beauty, protection of our interests and traditions. It contains symbols of our statehood - the colors of the flag of Ukraine, folk symbols: wildflowers, embroidered shirts. Ukrainians are now defenders not only of their nation, but also of all the main achievements of Western civilization - dignity, freedom, knowledge. Our motto now is “Together to victory!” We are now shoulder to shoulder. This means that everyone does what they can in their place. I help and participate with my creativity, my inspiration and work. In each painting from this series, I depicted a connecting element - the face of a marble statue in a classical style, as an image of Ukraine. These faces convey calm and serenity. Despite the current plight of Ukraine, we do not lose hope for a better future, for restoration and Renaissance, as I called this series of paintings. All paintings from this series are depicted in a restrained color scheme in which ocher, blue, and brown predominate.

Hello ! I am an artist from Ukraine. I draw and painting from early childhood. Creativity - my whole life. In my work, I am inspired by the world around me: nature, the female image, the architecture of cities, the sea. I like to express my understanding of the world and what is happening through symbolism in paintings. In my paintings I often use stylization, ornaments, collages of figures, flowers, architecture. The female image is the most important for me in painting. In my work, I am inspired by the surrounding world: nature, the female image, the architecture of cities, the sea. I like to express my feelings and understanding through symbolism in the paintings. I love watercolor for its elusiveness, danger, unpredictability. I find these traits in the female image as well. Watercolors are delicate, unpredictable, you never know how the paint will lay on paper, how the colors will flow and mix. I love to create series of paintings that inspire me: woman, flowers, Renaissance, Impressionism, Art Nouveau. Watercolor is my whole life! It is light, airy, momentary - as the paint lay down, so it will be. Therefore, when you create a picture, you don’t fully know how it will end up. I often draw tender, vulnerable female images, as I myself have been subjected to sexism, humiliation, pressure due to the fact that I am a woman. I myself fought for my freedom of expression, I am proud that I am an artist. With my painting, I inspire people to search for beauty around us. I take part in art exhibitions. I never expect inspiration in my life! It is always with me. My motto is beauty, light, harmony in every work! I have been painting since birth. I studied for many years and still do not stop improving in painting. I always said that I would create under the bombs. And now this time has come. And yes, I continue to work. Only now I'm sitting with a brush, and inside I'm squeezing from anger, pain, resentment. Many of us fight in different ways: someone with a gun, someone with a word, someone with creativity. I loved symbolism and now I am trying to convey the bright image of Ukraine with gray, dark colors. https://www.facebook.com/olga.larina.art https://www.instagram.com/larinamagicart
