Tom with wine Painting

This painting was made specially for the exhibition in Ashkelon that took place in June 2022. The theme is "Ashkelon and wine", and I didn't have any clever ideas about it, cause the theme of wine doesn't talk to me. Usually I'm very serious (too much serious) in my works, but because I was so short of ideas, I decided to make something humoristic. The first idea was to make a tribute to Caravaggio and paint some free copy of his Bacchus, but with a head of our present city major Tomer Glam). In one hand he would hold a glass of wine and in other - some Ashkeloni object. But my husband said that if the major will see it, he can take offence... I didn't know him personally and don't know how he is with the humour about himself. So, I switch the idea to cat that came to our yard time to time, my children called him Tom. Wine plus some objects from Ashkelon. The result you can see here :)
