About The Artwork

The painting "Too far - too close" deals with the theme of a relationship that, in its ambivalence, pushes the protagonists to their limits. PAAR illuminates the emotional torn nature of an interpersonal connection. Two men stand for this relationship, whose posture reflects exactly this feeling of being torn. It is a catching and, as it were, tearing away - one seeks closeness and wants to flee the next moment. A situation like a snapshot from a modern dance. The changing colors of the bodies represent the constantly changing states of mind. You can't live without each other, but you can't live with each other either. They are caught in the interplay of emotions and tumble intertwined on this interpersonal rollercoaster. A geometric pattern represents the desire for structure for continuity - but it is torn apart by the violent and dynamic movement of the two protagonists, thus nullifying any form of stability.

Born on July 24, 1973 in Neunkirchen / Austria, his creative talent was recognized as a child. Due to his interest in art and design and his work in architectural offices, the creative aspect was always the focus of his work. Always on the lookout for that special expression in his work, the autodidact would like to develop a unique and unmistakable style and thus achieve a distinctive signature as an artist that should run like a red thread through his works. PAAR does not want to be committed to a specific style or be pigeonholed by the themes of his pictures. He sees his work as an exciting journey that should continue to develop. And when he occupies a niche, he does so consciously - always with the certainty that he can leave it again at any time. The human being is very often the subject of his work. These sensitive, often multi-layered and color-saturated depictions give the viewer scope for their own interpretations. A strong contrast to these images are his works, in which he deals with style icons of automobile construction. The detailed, almost technically cool illustrations reflect the second side, the structured side of PAAR. These works can also be purchased as high-quality prints from the ART Garage at www.artgarage.at. As different as the two themes are - in this arc of tension they depict the artist and the person PAAR in its various facets as a whole. PAAR's preferred materials are acrylic on canvas, complemented by accents such as gold or silver leaf. In numerous individual and group exhibitions, PAAR has already had the opportunity to bring its works closer to an interested audience. The pictures have already been shown in numerous exhibitions in Austria – including at Art Innsbruck – and also abroad, such as at the Miami River Art Fair. PAAR's works can be found in private collections in Vienna, Mexico City, Berlin and New York, among others.
