About The Artwork
This series is based on ten of my Moleskine on-site ink drawings.They are all impressions of trees I have seen on various walks in the woods. The drawings were drawn onto the wood panel with red sumi ink. The abstract simplification of the scene gave me the opportunity to move away from local color and create a more vibrant palette. This is what I was after, a lively active series of small paintings!

B. 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. Raised in Queens, moved to Manhattan, then back to Greenpoint, Bklyn. Moved in 1988 to a small rural town in the Rocky Mountains, Ridgway, CO where I still live and have a studio. I lived in Spain in 2012-2013 and continue to make regular trips there to draw and paint. Work from my recent show Blowdown was featured in the Spring issue of Fungi Magazine
