About The Artwork

Torn and Divided is titled for the torn handwritten acrylic-paper transfers embedded in the layers of paint. My handwriting becomes part of my mark making, and not for the original contextual content. This is reinforced in the process of my paint application that allows the medium to flow, partially dissecting the overlapping diagonal lines and shapes of colours and tonal values. This is a gentle painting, the pinks symbolically referencing our vulnerability when feeling torn and divided. Yes, also strong by its diagonal lines in contrasting tones.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My paintings and photography are inspired by the beauty of nature. As an artist I use light, shapes and shadows to evoke strength, fragility, uncertainty and the dynamics of shifting states of being. I'm inspired by my travels in the Canadian and International Arctic, and by sailing and kayaking the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers. Abstract and semi abstract paintings are intended as spaces for visitors to bring their own interpretations and meaning.
