About The Artwork

This painting is a continuation of a series of animal paintings seeking to convey different primal emotions. This is the first in the series to be compositing both animals and human portraits show the transformation between animalistic states. This painting is painted with oil paints on linen and will be sent to the buyer unstretched in a tube. I leave all of my paintings unsigned on the back, but will happily sign the back of the painting with a special note to the buyer (if requested). The painting is designed to be gallery wrapped, and therefore there is a few inches on all sides to allow to show the full image. If the buyer chooses, to have the color wrap around thee sides, the design can accommodate this preference.

Brian Witlin is a fine artist hailing from Chicago, IL with residence in the San Francisco Bay Area. As an accomplished painter, entrepreneur, award-winning designer and fine artist, he is one of the most versatile creative talents to emerge from Silicon Valley's flourishing creative scene. Brian, is classically trained in art, is a prolific product designer holding nearly 10 utility patents, has a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Yummly (now a part of Whirlpool Corporation) one of fastest growing tech companies in the Bay Area (which tallies his third startup to be acquired by a major corporation). He seeks to create masterful pieces that transcend all of the disciplines he has worked in. He leverages design principles from his classical art training, digital tools from his experience as a product and UX designer, artificial intelligence from his work with predictive algorithms, machine learning, and computer vision, and a team of artisans in a studio-like fashion (as similar Leonardo Da Vinci’s Leonardeschi), and a continuously evolving process to aid in the development of his art. All of these tools define Brian’s unique process translating his final works with oil paint on canvas. Brian’s has received commissions from fortune 100 companies, major universities, Grammy Award winning musicians, UFC fighters, olympians, and other celebrity personalities. Select works can be found at Melissa Morgan Fine Art and JJ Harrington Gallery.
