"Transition I" Painting

Born in 1984 in Vladivostok and graduated in Fine Arts from Sorbonne University, Svetlana Maksimenko currently lives and works in Courbevoie. As we continue to push the boundaries of progress and technological advancement, in her series of oil paintings, the artist delves into the psychological and emotional effects of this rapid change, using artificial intelligence and psychoanalysis as a lens. Through bold brushstrokes, subdued tones and striking compositions, the images explore the tension between the traditional and the modern, the individual and the collective, and the internal and the external. The figures and landscapes depicted are at once familiar and alien, evoking a sense of both nostalgia and suspense.
