About The Artwork

Work is based on alchemical symbolism of transmutation. It was attempt to express my own feelings after very difficult stage of my life and visualise a mental trauma state. Bottom figures are injured soldiers, they bring freedom for us at the cost of their lives, it's nigredo stage. Middle part is opus, fusion of masculine and feminine energies, it's a peaceful time, postwar or post-traumatic time. At the top you can see the result of transmutation, post industrial people suffering from loneliness, opressions and propaganda. Corrupted philosopher's stone.

Hello, my name is Paul and i'm a Moscow-based self taught artist. I'm doing oil paintings based on mythology, art history, pop culture. My true passion is a colour. Colour could be used as emotional language that helps to understand ourselves. My main theme is the repressive nature of communication.
