This is probably the most emblematic work of my recent production. The painting was made on an old painting from 2011, and only the subject of the human skull was reproduced in this painting, repainted in a different position from the original. The theme of the painting represented a poem by Charles Baudelaire entitled "Love and the Skull". With this theme two pictorial versions have been realized, of which the second is now in a private collection. The current painting was therefore made on the first old version, but has not kept much of the old theme. In fact, the work has embarked on a completely new path, reconstructing itself in a surrealist atmosphere that sees as protagonists three colorful birds that observe a skull interested. The sky was taken from a photo of the landscape of Colmar in France, while the volcano on the right is Krakatoa (in Indonesia) which exploded during the period in which the painting was made. On the extreme left of the picture we can perceive the presence of a sitting mannequin (legs and shadow of the head on the skull).
