About The Artwork

„Tribute to Basquiat & Warhol“ This painting was born out of a fascination with these two as diverse artists, each was a completely different artist, each represented two completely different artistic styles yet both were geniuses in their own way of conveying their creative expression to the world. Known by his screen silk series, he was a perfectionist known by his multiplicity, fascinated not only by painting, Illustration but also photography and film. Basquiat is thought to have first met Warhol in 1979 when the young artist tried to sell the Pop art master some of his postcards. The pair met more formally in 1982 when Bruno Bischofberger, the dealer representing both artists, took Basquiat to Warhol's Factory studio in Manhattan. The fascinating thing is that they had such incredibly different styles, however, by creating collaborations and painting together, they were able to create something unique, a beautiful fusion of perfection and Chaos. Basquiat began his career under the pseudonym "SAMO" same old shit, as a graffiti artist, then as a full Basquiat artist, he created very quickly his works in total artistic Chaos. Inspired by Music, Television,African folk art, masses of books creating his neo-expressionist works. However, both artists pivoted to my fascination, balancing between perfection and chaos, this session was painted with Acrylic paints, Markers, ink, spray cans, was created to honor these two legends of art.

The human being is a complex and fascinating subject for artists like Damian Noir. With a deep interest in history and human civilizations, Noir delves into the intricacies of human nature, exploring the emotions, struggles, and triumphs that make us who we are. Inspired by artists like Basquiat, Daniel Richter, and Julian Schnabel, Noir combines elements of modern art with the techniques of the old masters to create powerful and evocative works that speak to the human experience. He takes inspiration from a wide range of sources, including music, movies, cities, and the writing of poets like Charles Bukowski. For Noir, the human being is a source of endless inspiration, and his work is infused with a deep sense of melancholy and emotion. He is particularly drawn to the blues, which he sees as a powerful and expressive medium for exploring the pain and struggles of everyday life. Through his art, Noir seeks to reveal the beauty and complexity of the human experience, and to explore the depths of the human soul. Whether through powerful brushstrokes or subtle nuances of color and light, his work is a reflection of the human condition, and a powerful tribute to the beauty and resilience of the human spirit.
