About The Artwork
This painting is part of a project on relationships and sexuality called "21st Century Loving". It shows three members of Toronto's polyamorous community connecting in my studio. I was inspired by their connection to create a painting that showed their non-traditional love. I love the beauty of traditional oil painting, and studied at a traditional atelier, but recently I've been drawn to more contemporary themes and compositions. I don't think of it as photo realistic, but it is detailed and precise, so some people describe my art this way. This trio inspired me to do some of my best work to date.
