This painting is part of a series where I explore standards of female beauty as presented by women's magazines. Before the painting process I cut up magazines such as Cosmpolitan to form my own "ideal" beauty. The painting is meant to pose questions about the beauty ideals presented to us. Why would we wish to have lips like another woman? The painting could also pose questions related to plastic surgery and similar beauty industries.
