Augusto's artistic journey began long before his own brushes touched the canvas. Over thirteen years ago, he plunged into the universe of colors and forms, a path that felt natural, almost destined, driven by the cultural effervescence that had always pulsed in his family and led him to take his first steps in a painting studio. In his artistic research, Augusto developed a unique technique with acrylic paint, where creation occurs in a dialogue between control and chance. He freezes the paint and applies it to the canvas in its solid form. The transformation happens as the ice melts, releasing the color in unpredictable flows, allowing the work to emerge organically from the process, exploring the relationship between time, space, and matter. In this gesture, the artist exercises control over the initial mixture and the freezing of the paint but makes room for the melting to introduce the unexpected, the untamable. His investigation goes beyond the pigment itself: he treats color as a living substance that can be contained, released, diluted, and that interacts with the support in a unique way.
