About The Artwork

A collection of ten acrylic paintings on 400 gsm sheets. Created between late 2022 and early 2023, this series marks a significant milestone as my first artistic exploration on foreign soil, crafted in the city of Gothenburg,Sweden. "Underwater" is the culmination of months spent metaphorically submerged beneath the surface, seeking a fresh perspective on life. After relocating to Gothenburg, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, rekindling my passion for painting and channeling the irresistible urge to create. This series became the vessel through which I could breathe new life into color and, in turn, reinvent myself. In this collection, I deliberately employed unique color combinations for each painting, allowing my artistic expression to evolve and uncover new harmonies. "Underwater" captures the essence of this transformative journey.

Saverio Francesco Ferrulli (Acquaviva d. Fonti, Italy - class 1996) is an italian abstract artist who works and lives in Göteborg, Sweden. In 2018 he began his gradual experimentation and research, mainly focused on the use of acrylic painting, first creating some trittic works on canvas cardboard (today located in private collection in Berlin). Focusing on form and color, for the realization of his works he uses various "unconventional" tools as in the tradition of abstract art. In addition to the use of brushes, spatulas and strips, in fact, he explores the infinite possibilities of applying color on the canvas with old tools, combs, and whatever he finds to help his cause.
