About The Artwork

This work was inspired by what I always see on the streets of Lusaka. With a high rate of unemployment in Zambia, young people have taken to small scale businesses. They buy goods from Chinese malls and then sale them in small packs to support themselves. This image remained in my mind for a long time before I painted it using my creativity. This young man was on his way home from a Chinese mall. I hope this work will remind my viewers of the struggles of the youth especially those unemployed, those who work for themselves to make endsmeet. I love using Oils and palette knife because of my love for freedom when I am in the studio.
