This piece is part of an ongoing series of portraits based on photographs I've taken of people I've met while travelling throughout Europe and the Caribbean. This portrait illustrates how easy it is to simply pass by and not acknowledge people, as if they are hidden in the shadows. If, however, you look closely and take the time to acknowledge someone, you realize they have a unique story to tell. A connection is then made.
