Unstoppable, 2021 101.6 X 76.2 X 1 (cm) Acrylic, charcoal and marker on Canvas Sealed with deco dead flat varnish "Unstoppable people are like warriors. They are always ready to take on the world. They are guided by a light from within, full of boundless energy and unwavering in their goals. They have learned to activate their natural talents and develop the skills necessary to achieve whatever they aim for." - Deep Patel This portrait is the first in a two-part series as a figurative interpretation of my thoughts about the political climate in my country (South Africa) and my personal conviction right now. I needed to remind myself what I'm capable of and that I can achieve any goal I set for myself. Unstoppable - South African woman (me) in a head scarf is brought to life in this expressive piece with vibrant greens, orange and red. This piece comes at a time when South African's are struggling in many ways especially financially, however the passion and determination to grow (leaves), foster unity and fight for what we believe in is admirable. We are unstoppable. This piece should keep the spark of hope and determination alive and help the viewer reflect on their dreams and aspirations.

South Africa
I am a South African artist who took up Visual arts in high school and then went from pursuing engineering to being a full time entrepreneur and self-taught artist. My creativity and ideas stem from emotion and I use art as an outlet. In my work I expose 'me'. I use art as a platform to spark conversations about mental health, cultural and social issues. I make use of a lot of personal elements of my identity to create art. I create expressively and appreciate not needing to conform to the norms. I prefer doing works with acrylic paint but have grown quite fond of mixed media.
