About The Artwork
This work is a 500mm diameter round canvas. It has been created using a clear gel impasto medium to create depth and texture then painted using genuine rose madder in linseed oil (plant based pigment) and genuine mica. I am interested in the resonance that authentic natural pigments bring to a piece. Gestural Abstraction is the form through which I explore a contemporary sublime, one that is illuminated by the subjective gaze of the viewer through the experience of seeing.
