As Schibli states, in allowing the „unconscious to move the brush and the tube“, the paintings become a reflection of his psychological status. Painting only using Ultramarine Blue, Blood Red, Emerald Green and Cosmos Black. Reduced to a minimal amount of Blue and Gold brush strokes, a layer of Cosmos Black of intuitive pouring and to finish a splashing Red and Green.
