The painting titled "Man with Money in the Cart" is a watercolor work on paper that captures a poignant and realistic scene inspired by the vagabonds of Gran Canaria. The artist has adeptly depicted the essence of street life through the portrayal of a man pushing a cart full of money, symbolizing the struggle for survival and the dichotomy between wealth and poverty. Masterfully using watercolor techniques, the artist skillfully blends vibrant colors with subtler tones to create an image that is both vivid and ethereal. The medium of watercolor lends the painting a translucent quality, highlighting the fragility and transience of human existence. This piece is a tribute to the inner strength of individuals in the face of life's challenges and a social commentary on inequality and marginalization. It's a thought-provoking representation that offers an empathetic and profound look at the human condition.

Italy
Luigi Cona is an Italian artist born in 1992 in Milan. From a young age, he became passionate about drawing and painting, and at the age of 16, he discovered oil and acrylic painting. His adolescence was marked by difficult moments, as at 16, he ended up in juvenile detention for cultivating marijuana at home and spent two years in a community. Here, a painting teacher noticed the artistic talent of the boy. After leaving the community, Luigi returned home and began to study digital drawing on his own and to paint a collection of oil paintings, exhibiting them in various shows in the area. In 2015, the death of his close friend deeply affected the artist, who began to reflect on his artistic path. This period of profound introspection led Luigi to make a radical change in his artistic production. He decided to abandon the repetitiveness of styles, changing his stylistic signature with each work, using various media and techniques. Luigi continues to exhibit his works in personal and collective exhibitions, selling pieces in Italy and abroad, and continues to receive appreciation and success. During one of these exhibitions, the artist falls in love with a photographer and yoga teacher, an event that marks another important change in his life and art. His passion for art also leads him to temporarily set aside traditional painting to create and design a numerous collection of digital drawings. However, during the pandemic, Luigi faces a deep depression that leads him to take a break for two years and work as a graphic designer. But he manages to find the strength to resume his artistic work and explore new ways of expressing himself through his art. After more than 10,000 drawings and works, in 2023 Luigi Cona returns to painting traditionally on paper, no longer figurative but dedicating himself to the abstract.
