About The Artwork
Acrylic paint is an excellent medium for doing experimental work. It dries fast, and can be applied thickly or loose. It glides smoothly across the paper, allowing me to work rhythmically and intuitively. I allow what's on the paper to inform what comes next. I use an assortment of tools to apply the paint, including brushes, knives and plastic credit cards. I enjoy the process of painting and the surprises that arise from not knowing what it will become. After the marks are made and the colors are applied, I step back to evaluate the effect. This painting reminds me of city buildings as seen through a mist.
