Vanity delves into the themes of conceit, futility, and the intricate exploration of the female sense of self. The canvas comes alive with a vivid depiction of a powerful heroine standing before an opulent mirror and vanity, camouflaged by an array of beauty products. With arms gracefully extended and facing upward, the heroine defies the conventional expectations placed upon her by society. Simultaneously, she turns her back to the vanity, symbolizing her refusal to be confined by the narrow constraints of external appearances. Instead, she boldly meets the gaze of the viewer, exuding an air of victory and unwavering confidence. The painting astutely acknowledges that vanity can be both a strength and a weakness, depending on how it is wielded. It recognizes that society often seeks to domesticate women, reducing their worth to mere objects of beauty and diminishing their agency. However, the heroine's triumphant stance challenges this notion, reclaiming her autonomy and reminding the viewer that her worth extends far beyond the superficial. Embedded within the artwork is a nod to transcendental feminism, a powerful movement that seeks to transcend traditional gender roles and empower women to embrace their unique identities. Through the juxtaposition of the heroine's defiance of societal expectations and her confident gaze, the painting encourages viewers to reflect on the complexity of female self-perception. "Vanity" serves as a striking commentary on the multifaceted nature of femininity, provoking contemplation on the societal pressures placed upon women and their ability to shape their own narratives. It invites viewers to reconsider the notion of vanity, encouraging them to recognize the potential for strength and agency that lies within every individual, regardless of their gender.

I paint stories of the human experience. The soul of life is demonstrated in depictions of figures interacting within a realm of time, realities, and one another. I paint that that is seen and unseen. I depict the beauty that often exists after a tragedy. I express the plane of existence pictorially divided, fragmented, as the energy and emotion around each being and happening. Often this movement is abstract, and often it is literal. I create images from inside myself. I carry them and grow them within me until I paint. Most of my paintings are of women and their realities as they relate to the greater human experience. Since my early life, I have worked in oils and prefer my expressions to be shared in their radiance applied using master techniques. The cause for which I create is my acute foresight and sense of the interconnectedness of all elements and time. What is seen and not seen. Known and not known. Contemporaneous, interacting, and incessantly influencing one another in a continuum of the past, present, and future. The entirety exists concurrently. I render the human relationship with eternity. I convey the human experience; acts, thoughts, sentiments, and situations layered upon all those of the past. Giving that human existence as we experience it is bound to the continuum of time. My vision is the complex language of layering multiple imagery levels representing the complicated content of a consequence, condition, moment, notion, or incident. The dialogue I consign contains all elements past and present, their atmosphere, and the energy collectively interacting. My work foreshadows the continuum of the condition. I paint to deliver a vision that others have not seen.
