Vaxholm with birds Painting

I am a fulltime artist working with oil paintings mixed media on canvas, paper, glass, copper, wood, marble . The question is when I become a full time artist? Well I can say it took long time. What I can say that I remember like yesterday an incident thats happened in the first year at the elementary school. I draw alone at home a lot. I show one of my drawing to the teacher. Maybe it was not a so good idea because it ended with a punishment. My mother talks to the teacher and tell her that I did not lie. That it was me who was made the drawing. My family decided to move to another city. It was a university town with many educational opportunities. At the age of ten I enrolled and passed the exam to a famous art school. Beside the usual school subjects we studied painting, drawing, graphics, sculpture, croquis, art history. In the art school I stay by eight years I studied from elementary school to high school and bachelor degree. What was special during the educations years in the art school was that every year in the summer we practice each month to paint, to draw croquis out in the city i the street. After a month of practice we present the works for examination and grading. If you did not get a passing grade, you could not continue your studies. You can see a picture with me under Inside the studio painting outside. I called it my outside studio. It was my first studio. To work and paint out was and it is a challenge but it is precious för many points of view. In that art school they want us to learn to study with the object in front of you. Not according to the photograph but after real studies.We can remember that photography was not seen as an art form until late .It took time. I remember discussions about this så late as 1985 when photography was accepted beside painting sculptures as an art form. Liljevalchs juried exhibition in spring salon I got married when I was young, had two children and settled abroad. In Sweden I worked and entered on artistic tests an well known art school Nyckelviksolan. My goals was to learn me more and to apply to the University of arts craft i Stockholm. So I learned to work with metal, wood an ceramics. After I finished my university studies I marry for second time this time with an american.In this marriage I was encourage to work as an artist full time. Of cause it wasn't easy but it works. I continue to study by my own . reading and buying books.
