About The Artwork
I love how the gold layer makes the invisible visible. Just as our consciousness can not perceive what it does not know. Those throbbing surfaces are there in the blackness anyway, but until the gold draws attention to their existence, the uninitiated eye cannot see them. I like to watch, I like to look for the continuation of the veins. I love it as I cannot see it myself, though I know it is there. Painted with the world's 2nd darkest black paint, designed by Stuart Semple and made with original Manetti 23 3/4 carat gold.
