This painting is from the series about the energy I worked on. It was part of my exhibition, “Resonancias” (Resonances), at the museum “Museo de las Americas” in San Juan, PR.
I wrote an article on my blog called “Art and Physics an unexpected coincidence.” I mainly discuss why I’m working on this topic. Since I explored the theme of time, space, and light in past exhibitions, I had to complete this exploration of the basic constructs of reality with energy.
This painting concentrates on the energy that the state of confusion creates. In this Lunatic Voyage, I introduced some textures to strengthen the idea of energy and painted in various shades of red very aggressively to achieve an atmosphere of dynamism. The word Lunatic comes from luna (moon), so I decided that the character had to travel on a distinctive moon.
Overview of the painting
A man traveling on the moon symbolizes the energy that emerges during a state of confusion in life. Painting Name: “Viaje Lunático” (Lunatic Voyage) • Original acrylic painting signed by the artist Pablo Montes O'Neill • It has 1 1/2″ thick sides/stretcher painted to coordinate with the artwork, so framing is optional, although it would look gorgeous with a proper floating frame. • The canvas art is wired on the back, ready to hang. Certificate of Authenticity provided
*Unframed artwork Please note that the painting is shipped with no frame.

Puerto Rico
I seek to project authentic, intimate interpretations of the world I encounter. As a native of Puerto Rico, I am influenced by the characters, emotions, images, and colors associated with the island. Sometimes I turn to my childhood memories to address the existential questions I want to express. I've recently explored the concepts of time, energy, light, and space through my paintings and drawings. This has led me to work with hybrid subjects and media that can converge figuration with traits of abstraction and surrealism. I use symbolism and distortions to bridge the figures and their environment, creating scenes where surrounding energies and time metaphors serve as the glue of an idea.
