this acrylic painting on canvas is part of a series about the onlookers (regardeurs) at museums and exhibitions. How do we look at art? What does our body attitude convey about our relationship with art and the artists? I have started working on that theme since I saw a man watching the white wall instead of the painting at Picasso blue and pink exhibit at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, France. Then I came across Marcel Duchamp's statement: "the onlookers are the ones who make the paintings" (Ce sont les regardeurs qui font les tableaux). this series also gives me the opportunity to browse through art history.
