About The Artwork

I created this painting based on a scene of a river that came to mind while in a meditative state. The flow of the river expresses the cycle of life through its repetitive waves. The whirlpool of water can be associated with vitality and eternity. Signed on the back and front. Finished with satin varnish. For this piece I used a mixture of acrylic paint and gloss gel for my painting, resulting in a textured surface with a moderate thickness and a glossy finish.

During moments of calm, I can envision a world spreading before me, reflecting my inner being. I watch it unfold with great curiosity. It is a universal realm in harmony with nature, embodying life's flow, cycles, and energy. It is the essence of life itself. I express this vision through my art. I often ponder the progression of nature and humanity through the ages into today’s world. This is where my interest and curiosity lie. The universal forces behind this evolution inspire my imagination and resonate in my art. The wonder of existence, the joys of life, our dialogue with nature - these are some of the elements and concepts at the core of my art. The creative process Typically my works of art start out as sketches of visions I have when in a relaxed or meditative state. I then move on to the canvas, using the sketch as a reference. I begin to work, adding brushstrokes and carving textures into the paint as if creating a sculpture, until something with form and meaning starts to reveal itself amidst the disarray. Allowing the colors and emotions of the emerging scene to wash over me, I continue to paint in tune with the image. Drawing inspiration from the culture and art of various periods in human history up through the modern age, I allow my own deeply personal aesthetics and themes to blend with those external influences as I create my art. About me Born and raised in Osaka, Japan, ever since childhood I've had a penchant for creativity, finding inspiration in working with clay, handling insects, and raising animals. I especially enjoy the process of visualizing my thoughts and daydreams, and then using my senses and hands to bring them to life. Towards the end of 2017, I moved to the United States. I am always searching for new ways to express myself, as I’ve done in my ceramics work in the past and in my paintings and illustrations more recently.
