Void Painting

My name is Serena Conway, I'm an Australian/Turkish artist living and working in Istanbul. The last couple of years I've been focusing on creating several collections which vary in style and in subject matter. My work is created using acrylic paint and mixed mediums. The inspiration for my work varies from Myths I've always been fascinated by, to my own emotional experiences. I seem to have an endless list of creations in my mind waiting to come to life on a canvas, My representational work encompasses a lot of harsh thick lines, smooth surfaces, and blocks of colour, following strict guidelines and shapes, representing the lessons imparted by the ancient myths depicted. In contrast, my abstract work seeks to eliminate conscious thinking, leaving the painting free flowing, bright and movement-orientated, I do this by using texture and tonal variations to hint at nature in organic forms to create the illusion of what was there. www.serenaconway.com
