A place of torment, anguish and timelessness. Inescapable and eternal, operating in another time and space. A PLACE OF NO GRAVITY. A VACCUM WHERE NOTHING CAN LIVE. SPACE THAT IS DEVOID OF CONTENTS AND LIGHT. THE INSIDE OF A BLACK HOLE. FLOATING, UNSUPPORTED, TIMELESS, SHEER PANIC AS IT OVERCOMES THE SENSES OF SOUND, SIGHT, TOUCH TO THE POINT OF NO RETURN. A LOW FREQUENCY, NO GOD IN THIS REALM. NO INSPIRATION OR POTENTIAL OR IDEAS JUST A NEGATIVE PULL AND DRAIN. A FELT SENSE OF A LARGE OMINOUS HOLE IN THE ABDOMEN. Part of ongoing series of paintings in relation to the void. A temporal space of the mind that drains energy, sucks and pulls its host and others in. An overwhelming feeling of Isolation, Despair, Space, and Emptiness from any other. The abyss contains no potential, inspiration, ideas or energy, it is black, barren matter. The large size and use of layered, contrasting mark making of this piece enables the viewer to feel its hunger and pull inwards.
