About The Artwork
"votre attention" is a collection exploring different aspects of my personality. The pieces each depict a persona of mine, used to chameleon myself into places and situations; an underlying anxiety of being outcast if I don't mirror the people around me. Number II is an attempt at painting a perfect picture, cool and suave, but I never was very good at keeping that up. The texture of the white base is bumpy and uneven, like the foundation of my charade. An error is roughly covered but visible. An act to convince the world I am to be admired.

I am a young visual artist based in Leeds city centre. Heavily influenced by Abstract Expressionists like Rothko and Action Painters like Kline, my work explores organic movement and bold colour. I work mainly with acrylic paint and plywood, always on the ground and always barefoot. I experiment with oil on transparent acrylic when painting portraits, and also incorporating poetry, both original and a variety of other poets.
