Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Color, Paint, Plastic, 3D Sculpting on Plastic, Other.

Frank Stella's later high relief work was a starting point for this work. However, I wanted to make sure that there was no scaffolding to spoil the look of the finished work. I simply invented a fantastic shape spontaneously. The design evolved as I proceeded with it day to day I like high relief work that one can look at for a while and still not quite see how it's constructed. You'll never look at any of my work and dismiss it to memory in a split second. I want the viewer to say WTF is this I'm looking at and then try to puzzle it out. How was it made, what does it remind you of. Who does it remind you of and last but not least my work is a little tongue in cheek, a bit of fun for a moment or two. I don't like taking life too seriously. I've been lucky in so far I've had a very easy and interesting life. Anyway, up to now that's been the case. I'm 72 now, so one has to be cheerful and keep going. I'm as fit as a butcher's dog, so I should be OK for about another 50 years. You aint seen nothin' yet ! - Kind regards - Chris
