Waiting to Grow Painting

This is actually a painting of my daughter when she was younger, on a hike in Torrey Pines State park in San Diego, CA. However, it could be anywhere in natures beauty. I think this shows the young and the old together, each living out a different life, yet entwined somehow in the amazing thing we call living. The girl looks out beyond, to something we can't see. Does she see something tangible, or is her mind wandering a bit, wondering about the future. And what is the old gnarled twisted tree, probably hundreds of years old, feeling within its crusty bark. Does it sense the girl beside it? Is it saying to the young girl," Don't worry, though you will face storms and winds in your life, your roots will grow stronger each day that you live." I'd like to think so. Wisdom only comes with experience.
