This piece is actually two paintings in one. One on stretched canvas and a second on unstretched canvas. While working on the initial painting I spied the second and suddenly was inspired to cut it into multiple strips to contrast with the first. When I stepped back I knew it was the perfect marriage. This painting like most directed me - not the other way around. It one of my favorites I've done. I love the texture of the strips on the first. I usually struggle with names but this one was perfect. Coming off of a bad two years of losing my parents and all that goes with it. The first completed piece.
