About The Artwork
Waterboys are a constant on Djemma el Fna. Anyone can see at least three off them, but they are usually five or six spread through the square. They patiently wait for that tourist who wants to be photographed with them. They know it, as they knew in the old times that the dromedary riders were about to arrive and that they would be thirsty. As these tourists: I saw how a German bought a water boot to one of these waterboys. I thought: ‘’is it all about deals?’’. Young and old waterboys standing up since the first hour in the morning until the sunset. Ringing their bells to get the attention of everyone, of none. Strathmore paper, 140 lb.
