James Noseworthy, son of the renowned artist George Noseworthy, carries forward a profound artistic legacy. Born into a world where art was a language spoken fluently at home, James grew up surrounded by creativity and inspiration. His father, famously known as "The Pied Piper of Hibb's Cove," left a vibrant mark in the artistic realms of Newfoundland and beyond, influencing James's path. After studying and refining his skills, James, much like his father, found a deep connection with his heritage. He returned to the Northeast, where the wild, natural landscapes and seascapes echo his childhood in Newfoundland. Now based in Maine, James's work is a dialogue between the present and the past, between his unique vision and the rich legacy he inherits. His oil paintings, characterized by their rhythmic interpretation of nature, are not just representations of the landscape but are imbued with the stories and spirits of the places that have shaped him. In each stroke, James honors his father's memory, whose final words, "Say not, that you viewed my art and saw life, but say you again viewed life and saw my art," resonate through his own creations. As George's works find their home in prestigious collections, James continues to weave the narrative of their shared heritage through his vibrant and emotive landscapes. “Life is brief, but art lives on.”
