About The Artwork
This painting is small but full of impact! It depicts a violent wave in the middle of a stormy night, crashing against the sea in all its glory! I have always loved the sea, especially at night and during the winter, and am fascinated by the storms that happen in the middle of the ocean, far away from land. This painting is from a series I made about nighttime sea storms and so would sit well with other pieces from the series, or still make a splash hanging by itself! It is painted in acrylic on a deep-edge canvas and is signed by me. The sides are painted in a very deep blue. On the back are d-rings and picture cord and it is ready to hang. It would also frame well if you chose to do have that done.

I'm an artist working primarily in painting and drawing from my studio in rural Wiltshire, UK. I am fascinated by the relationship between language and images, and my current series, Sleep, is inspired by instances of sleep, insomnia, dreaming and nightmare in poems and other works of literature. In 2020, I completed a series of 48 small paintings inspired by T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets poems. Readings of the poems, set against the backdrop of my paintings,can be heard and seen on my YouTube channel. A book about the project will be published in 2021. My work is regularly exhibited in galleries and open exhibitions across the UK, and is included in private collections in the US, Australia, France and Britain.
