Wayland Smithy is an ancient Neolithic buriel chamber situated on the Oxfordshire Ridgeway in England.The chambers entrance is faced with large stones and the first chamber is accessible. The long burial mound is surrounded by a ring of tall beech trees. The legend of Wayland the Smith is connected with this place.It is very atmospheric here and peaceful,especially on a still midwinters day.I have visited at different times of year but this is my favourite time .
