We Are The Family Painting

" We Are The Family" is the first painting created by Daniel Nie, a renowned Chinese-American artist, during his first visit to Australia. He painted this painting (Acrylic, 16'x20') during his first visit to Mr.Tam Ho, and presented it as an appreciation for the hospitality Nie received during his stay with the family in June, 2018. The most stunning composition of this painting is the lifting leaves that stretch out as if we spread our arms to celebrate our lives or to welcome our loved ones. Six big lotus flowers not only reveal their different stages of blossom, but hint a sense of communication and intimate loving relationship as a family. The lotus leaves with saucer-like forms symbolize an oriental philosophy of practicing virtues for holding more good lucks. Other typical oriental philosophy such as Yin and Yang are also expressed by the calm atmosphere in the upper part of the painting with yellow delight and the the dynamic movements of the grass at the bottom of the painting. The entire painting, touching of a bit of pink, advocates the artist's personal philosophy of that one can only reaching the climax of personal happiness with understanding the meaning of his or her life as a human being by evolving from ''romantic realism'' to ''rational romanticism'' . This painting now is a part of permanent collection of The TamHo Art Collection in Brisbane Australia.
