We Grow Together, We Burn Together Painting

This artwork explores solidarity in womanhood. I wanted to depict a pack of women entangled in the trials and tribulations of life, navigating their way through as a United body. Sharing their experiences, offering comfort and physical touch, nurturing new life, pining for past lives, and most importantly experiencing these things together. I thought a lot about friendship and what that means to women. Becoming a united front when part of the pack is experiencing turmoil and hurt. Offering your strength to someone who needs it more than you, and receiving the same back without asking. It’s an unwritten yet binding contract, meaning no one is left behind on the emotional and fleeting journey of life. Sharing experiences, knowledge and love, but also sharing the parts that you deem as weaknesses, allowing someone else to step in and offer relief and a new perspective. Perpetuating eternal growth. The painting evolved over a year and a half; constantly adding elements and taking others away. There was a real sense of movement and evolution throughout the process, which lent itself perfectly to the concept of the piece.
