About The Artwork

This piece is from an abstract collection that is inspired by connection and relationships. The use of a layered monochromatic pallete emphasises the core human desire for connection is the same. Circles are individual but they do not need to fit into each other for connection. The momentum they create together when they roll together represented in the energetic brush strokes protects them and is a strong force of energy that connects them. Together they can weather any storm.

Neha is a London based contemporary abstract artist. Self taught for the most part, her work explores the concept of connections and relationships in nature and humanity. Her inspiration comes from her own immersion in different cultural environments throught her life, her passion for learning about and expressing the human condition and her desire to be close to and explore nature. These themes and stories can be seen throughout her work. Neha's inate nature is to experiment and learn through experience. Her body of work is an evolution and reflection of subject matter, trialling techniques, methods and using different media to suit the subject matter of each piece. Mostly working in acrylic, much of her painting style is abstract, gestural and boldly composed; her style takes inspiration from abstract expressionism. The subject matter of each piece usually results as a follow up to a previous idea. A way to expand it or explore it in a different way. Sometimes there is planning and a particular outcome involved, but more often she works in the moment to capture and transfer the energy at that time onto canvas after which the subject matter evolves and becomes apparent. She mostly works on large canvases and is rarely still when painting. For her, the process of creating the piece is enhanced by the ability to use full body movements for the energy she is expressing to be apparent to the viewer.
